As I studied ACIM, Jesus was having me give attention to “pray, listen, and follow.” He would tell me, “Rather than your analytics, I'll guide you and tell you precisely what to state, what direction to go, and where to go. I'll handle every one of time and space if you can give your brain to me. I'll handle most of the arrangements.”
This was mind-boggling to the ego! What do you mean, “handle most of the arrangements”? How about airline tickets, transportation, food, and shelter? The give attention to “pray, listen and follow,” the directions that Jesus gave me, became 100% trustworthy, 100% safe, and 100% time-saving.
A Parable with David
Certainly one of my ACIM students in the 1990s came up in my experience to really have a cup of tea at my kitchen table at the Peace House. a course in miracles She sat down and said, “I have X amount of money, and it's in the stock market right now. I'm praying and wondering what I should do with this particular money.”
We were having our cup of tea and I said, “You're supposed to totally get free from the stock market right now.” I'm not just a stockbroker, I don't really follow the stock market, but it just came through me, effortlessly, as a necessitate love.
And so she did. She went back and completely sold every one of her stocks. Right next, the stock market took a giant dive, a giant crash. Then she returned and said in my experience, “Do you know the amount of money you saved me with everything you said?” And I said, “That wasn't me! I don't claim any responsibility for that advice and guidance. What did I say?”
I'm just into praying, listen, and following. I'm not considering giving people guidance and advice. Frances and I could tell you that through the years practicing ACIM and living together as a group of people, there are a large amount of logistics that can come up for consideration. The one thing that has carried most of us through is “pray, listen, and follow.” We have learned to be 0% analytical and 100% trust.
